 Meaningful Visit : Historical monuments vs Amusement Parks­/shopping complexes.
                                                                 

An inter house debate competition was organized at GD Salwan Public School to sensitize the students about the relevance of historical monuments. The topic of the debate was Meaningful Visit : Historical monuments vs Amusement Parks­/shopping complexes.  Under this activity students of different houses presented their views and tried to aware and sensitize the audience about historical monuments; a place of  country’s pride and duty of every citizen to protect and conserve their rich cultural heritage.

The students were also asked to share their the purpose and the objective of joining the Heritage Club. They were then asked to make an Ad on how they can conserve the Natural Heritage. OUTCOMES The students showed enthusiasm in learning more about India’s rich heritage. They showed their creativity by preparing the Ad work.

Cherishing India’s freedom

Cherishing India’s freedom August 15, 1947  is the day engraved in gold in the history of India. It is the day when India attained its freedom from the clutches of a long slavery of over 200 years of the British Rule. It was a long and hard struggle in which many freedom fighters and great men laid their lives for our beloved motherland. To celebrate the 71st Independence Day and 75years of Quit India, the students of  Gyan Devi Salwan Public School celebrated the month of August as the Social Science Month. A plethora of activities were planned to celebrate our Independence, Our Heritage, Our beautiful Culture. Three Intra Class Activities were conducted from Classes VI-XI. Regarding students as active seekers of knowledge by throwing light on the multiplicity of history and cultural experiences that exists in India and in an attempt to wet student’s appetite for historical inquiry, the Dharohar club conducted activities like creating Dharohar membership cards, Dharohar song and pottery workshop in the month of April – May.
